Lauren Neko’s career began as a featured topline vocalist, with her voice appearing on records, compilations, radio and festival stages more than a decade before she stepped behind the decks.

Her vocals have been performed live at Hed Kandi Ibiza, and alongside established house and club artists including Russell Morgan (K-Klass), Will Clarke, and Sonny Fodera, long before live DJ-vocal performance became a common format.

As a featured vocalist, her career highlights include collaborations and releases with artists such as Roni Size and Romero, and inclusion on the iconic Ministry of Sound – Housexy compilation. Across the pre-streaming era, her voice featured on numerous compilations and close to 20 single and EP releases, cementing her reputation within club and dance music circles internationally.

Vocally, she draws influence from expressive, character-driven performers including Danielle (Crazy P), Clementine Douglas, Crystal Waters, and the vocal legacy of CHIC, alongside indie and alternative influences such as Alison Goldfrapp, Aluna, Shirley Mason, Nao, and La Roux.

Working across several aliases, Lauren Neko continues to topline for house, indie-dance, progressive, tech and disco. In collaboration with Romy Black, DISCO SLIPPERS launched in 2025 with ‘We Found the Night’

Lauren Neko’s DJ sets are driven by groove and timeless song selection, built around an intuitive understanding of how people of different generations and communities move together on the dancefloor.

Her work has consistently connected with queer audiences and women - not just the house-heads. Blending house, disco and funk-laden grooves across eras - creating spaces that feel both electric and connected.

A long-standing presence in Sydney’s house scene, Lauren has held residencies at respected club and house venues, headlined main stages and shared the spotlight with many international acts.

Her selections draw from a wide lineage of house, disco and indy artists, with artists such as Groove Armada, Mousse T, Alan Braxe, Honey Dijon, Oden & Fatzo, LF System, Dario D’Attis, and Martin Solveig frequently informing her sound.

After years of co-producing and collaborating behind the scenes, Lauren Neko stepped forward as a producer-vocalist, releasing original music under her own name.

Her debut producer single ‘Do Alright’ reached #57 on the ARIA Club Chart in 2023, marking her transition from featured vocalist to artist-producer within the club and dance music space.

In 2024, ‘Don’t Touch’ - released on Dare To Records - became a club-floor favourite - combining driving house energy with a clear message around autonomy, embodiment and space on the dancefloor.

Lauren Neko continues to develop new material across solo and collaborative projects, with further releases scheduled throughout 2025, expanding her work as both a producer and live performer.

Lauren Neko is also a practicing visual artist, shaping the aesthetic language of her projects across styling, artwork and performance environments.

Colour, fashion, texture and symbolism are treated as extensions of the music — informing stage presence, promotional imagery and the live experience.
